Firearms Sales
All firearms are shipped to an FFL on your behalf. You may be asked to provide Southern Defense with the FFL information of your choice.
Prior to placing your order, please verify the following with your FFL of choice:
- The FFL will accept the transfer for all of the items on your order.
- The FFL is currently in business.
- Confirm the FFL’s business address for your order.
- Any additional transfer fees charged by the FFL for the transfer.
If you change the FFL information you originally provided to Southern Defense after your order has shipped, you will be charged for any additional shipping expenses that coincide with such change.
You may pick up your firearm at the FFL of your choice only if you pass a National Instant Criminal Background Check conducted at the FFL at the time of pickup.
After the transfer, all sales are final, and firearms cannot be returned to Southern Defense.
Southern Defense is not responsible for any items refused by your FFL. If your FFL of your choice is not available at the time of delivery and the package is returned to Southern Defense, additional shipping charges will apply to orders that must be reshipped.
By ordering a firearm, you certify you are the actual transferee/buyer of the firearm, are of legal age and satisfy all federal, state and local legal/regulatory requirements to purchase this firearm.
Firearm Shipping & Delivery
Firearms will incur an additional long gun or handgun shipping surcharge.
- Handguns MUST be shipped UPS second-day air.
Shipping & Delivery Policy
Orders for products generally ship UPS, FedEx or USPS Mail. Southern Defense reserves the right to change or alter shipping methods from those selected at checkout without notice. Once your product is received by the carrier, you automatically assume all responsibility for its safe transit to your delivery address, and thereafter. You also agree to hereby explicitly release Southern Defense from all liability and responsibility thereafter. Southern Defense is not responsible for any lost or damaged packages after delivery.
When appropriate, a hazardous materials surcharge may be added to your order. A signature may be required on some packages and all hazardous materials packages.
Shipping Insurance
Shipping insurance for the customers of Southern Defense is enabled by default and appears during checkout as a “Add Shipping Insurance”.
The customer understands they are able to decline shipping insurance at any time during the checkout process. By declining shipping insurance, the customer understands that Southern Defense is not responsible for any issues relating to shipment or package delivery, including but not limited to: loss, damage and/or theft.
If a customer who selects shipping insurance during the checkout process, would like to begin a claim, please email us at: info@southerndefense.com with your order number and a detailed description of the issue. All claims are subject to review by Southern Defense and purchase of shipping insurance is not a guarantee of reimbursement.
If a claim is approved, the customer may be reimbursed via the following methods:
- Refund to the customer’s original payment method of the cost of the original merchandise, excluding sales tax (if applicable), shipping and/or handling charges, and the cost of shipping insurance per the customer’s order number/invoice.
- Store credit of the cost of the original merchandise, excluding sales tax (if applicable), shipping and/or handling charges, and the cost of shipping insurance per the customer’s order number/invoice.
- At the discretion of Southern Defense: re-shipment of the customer’s merchandise as previously purchased per the customer’s order number/invoice.
All shipping insurance claims must be made within 30 days of the date of purchase. Any claims made after 30 days of the date of purchase will be denied. Once a customer has contacted Southern Defense and initiated a shipping insurance claim, Southern Defense will reach out to the customer within a reasonable time frame. If a customer does not respond within 5 days of Southern Defense’s last message, the claim will be closed. Southern Defense may request additional photos and/or videos of the shipment/package, as well as a police report if a package is reported stolen.
Southern Defense’s shipping insurance will not reimburse shipping insurance claims including, but not limited to:
- Invalid and/or incomplete shipping address.
- Shipment/package marked “Return to Sender”.
- Merchandise/product missing within a shipment with no evidence of tampering.
- Orders not yet marked “Shipped”.
- Custom-order merchandise.
- Merchandise/product packaging is damaged but merchandise/product is still usable.
- Theft.
Return, Refund & Exchange Policy
All ammunition, gunpowder, and ammo primer sales are final.
All products purchased through special order are final.
Returns
Except for ammunition, gunpowder and ammo primer, returns and exchanges are approved of on a case-by-case basis within 30 days of order receipt. Please contact us at info@southerdefense.com to initiate your return or exchange.
Upon approval, the customer will be provided with instructions on how to return their merchandise.
Any eligible returns and exchanges must be returned in its original packaging. You are responsible for all return shipping costs, unless otherwise agreed upon by Southern Defense. Once the 30-day return and exchange window has passed, you will not be eligible for a full refund or exchange.
A restocking fee up to 20% may apply to returns and exchanges. All returns and exchanges will be subject to inspection upon receipt by Southern Defense. Southern Defense will only accept returns and exchanges on products that are unused, undamaged, and unopened. Any products deemed damaged or inoperable due to the improper handling or use by a customer will not be accepted for a return or exchange.
Unless otherwise stated in the product description, all products sold are new and under warranty from the manufacturer, Should any items be defective, Southern Defense will provide a shipping label at no charge to return the defective item(s) and will give you a full refund, including shipping costs, if returned within 30 days of order receipt. All products must be packed in the original packaging, including any accessories, manuals, documentation, and registration that shipped with the product.
Refunds
Once your return is received and inspected, we will notify you via email that we have received your return item. If your return is approved, all refunds, minus any applicable shipping and handling fees, will be credited to the customer’s account (credit card/original method of payment) that was used at the time of purchase. To receive a refund, the product(s) must be received within 30 days of order receipt.
For defective or manufacturer issues with products, please contact the manufacturer for warranty support.
Shipping Restrictions for Firearms, Ammunition & Magazines
We do not ship to any area within the United States where we are prohibited by federal, state, or local law to ship a product. You understand that if you attempt to have a product shipped to these restricted areas, your order will be canceled, and you will be subject to paying a 20% cancellation fee.
It is the customer's responsibility to know the laws in his or her jurisdiction prior to purchasing products provided by Southern Defense. No product offered for sale by Southern Defense will be knowingly shipped or transferred to a person in any jurisdiction where it is unlawful to receive or possess such product.
Any customer who is shipping ammunition to a restricted state MUST send in their FFL/ID after order submission to have the order processed and shipped. To send a copy of your FFL/ID, please email info@southerndefense.com with your order number in the subject line and a digital copy/pdf file of the required documentation. Failure and/or refusal to do so, as well as sending expired documentation, may result in processing delays and ultimately a 20% cancellation fee.
All firearms must ship to an FFL.
Southern Defense does not ship outside the continental United States.
We do not ship ammunition to PO, APO or FPO Boxes.
The following states have additional Restrictions for Firearms, Ammunition & Magazines:

A valid/non-expired Illinois Firearm Owner's Identification Card (FOID) is required for all ammunition and magazine orders. The order may only be shipped to the address shown on the FOID or valid/non-expired IL Driver's License

Order Cancellation Policy
It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that the correct products are ordered. Orders cannot be edited once they are submitted. Orders that are canceled after submission may be subject to a 20% cancellation fee. Once an order has been shipped and tracking information is generated, the order cannot be canceled. Refusal to accept delivery of an order may be subject to a restocking fee of 20%, as well as any return shipping charges.
