TriggerTech History
TriggerTech was founded in 2013 by Mats Lipowski and Greg Baniak, both mechanical engineers, in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. The company's inception was sparked by Mats' frustrating experience with a crossbow trigger during a hunting trip, which led him to envision a new kind of trigger system. Partnering with Greg, they aimed to eliminate the common issues of sliding friction found in traditional triggers, leading to the development of their patented Frictionless Release Technology™ (FRT™).
The Frictionless Release Technology™ is the cornerstone of TriggerTech's product line. It employs a free-floating roller between the sear and the trigger, removing sliding friction and ensuring a crisp, consistent break. This innovation resulted in the Zero Creep Technology™, providing triggers that break like a glass rod and improving accuracy and precision. This technology was initially applied to crossbows but has since expanded to include bolt action rifles, AR platforms, and more.
TriggerTech's first prototype was developed for an Excalibur crossbow in Mats' basement in 2012. This prototype successfully held a 280lb draw weight and featured an exceptionally crisp 1.5-pound trigger pull. Recognizing the potential of their design, the founders continued to refine and expand their product offerings. Today, TriggerTech provides a range of triggers for various firearms and crossbows, earning a reputation for high performance and reliability even in harsh conditions.
The company remains privately owned and continues to manufacture its products in Canada, maintaining rigorous quality control. TriggerTech's commitment to innovation and excellence has attracted notable customers, including leading OEMs like Christensen Arms, Weatherby, and Bergara. These partnerships leverage TriggerTech’s advanced technologies to enhance the performance and safety of their firearms.
In conclusion, TriggerTech's revolutionary approach to trigger design has significantly impacted the firearms industry. Their patented technologies, including Frictionless Release Technology™ and Zero Creep Technology™, have set new standards for trigger performance, reliability, and safety. As TriggerTech continues to innovate, they remain a trusted name among competitive shooters, hunters, and firearms enthusiasts worldwide.
